man . I can remember reading the unfortunate events books at like 9 or 10 and thinking, “wow; violet’s basically an adult. she’s 14 (such a mature age!) and she’s really smart and good at solving problems and taking care of her siblings”

but now I’m 22 and rereading the books, and I’m like, “holy shit, violet is a CHILD. she shouldn’t have to take on all that responsibility; she’s just 14.”
